some help needed...i have to write research paper..paper topic is to choose one of these poets and analyze one or more of hus poems:Donne, Herbert, Vaughan, Marvell, Crashaw

But i can only use page- well i am not allowed to write the adress but it is luminarium...I have to have clear thesis in the introductory paragraph, line of developments and arguments. I am not good in those things especially with poems!Anybody interested in helping me with this paper?

Please type in the luminarium webpage's URL -- putting spaces between elements as follows:

http : / / www . chron . com

My further questions:
~This is a research paper, but you can use only one source?? Or is this the source of your primary work and you can use other sources for your research?
~How long does YOUR paper need to be?

Also, here are some websites about reading, understanding, and analyzing/explicating poetry. Please read through them and see if they offer some help that you can use.

eve then i cannot post a website the rest is / sevenlit / metaphysical . htm
Yes this is a research paper however my research can be done only on this site. I have to write a paper of about 800 words

thank you .I will do it:)

i will read some poems and i'll select one or two and tomorrow at 3 p.m. i am going to send my post...thank you really...i really need some help...

You might also ask for some clarification from your teacher. I think what he/she is asking for is more of an analysis or explication of the poem, rather than a research paper. It might just be terminology, but we'll see.

The first time I ever had to do an assignment like this, I was very confused, but as I got into it and just waded through, it became quite interesting. I won't say it was easy, but it was definitely interesting to realize how my interpretation of the poem was altered by conducting such thorough (line by line) analysis.

I'm looking forward to your post tomorrow.

=)

It seems like you have a clear task at hand - writing a research paper analyzing one or more poems by a chosen poet from a specific website (luminarium, but you couldn't provide the URL). Your paper needs to have a clear thesis in the introductory paragraph, follow a line of development, and present arguments.

To get started, you can begin by selecting one or two poems from the poets listed: Donne, Herbert, Vaughan, Marvell, Crashaw. Read through the poems on the luminarium website and choose the one that resonates with you the most or that you find interesting.

Once you have selected the poem(s), spend some time analyzing and understanding them. Consider the various aspects of the poem such as the poetic devices used, the themes explored, the structure of the poem, and the overall message or meaning conveyed.

From there, you can start formulating your thesis statement. Think about what specific aspect or theme of the poem you want to focus on in your analysis. Your thesis should be clear and specific, providing a roadmap for your paper.

Since you are limited to using only the luminarium website for your research, make sure to explore the website thoroughly. Look for any additional resources, such as articles or analysis of the poet or the specific poem you have chosen. These resources can provide valuable insights and help support your arguments.

Additionally, you mentioned that your paper needs to be around 800 words long. Keep this in mind as you plan your analysis and argument. Be concise, but also make sure you provide enough evidence and analysis to support your points.

Once you have a better idea of the poem you want to analyze, its themes, and your thesis statement, you can reach out for further assistance. Feel free to provide more details about the poem you have chosen, your initial thoughts on it, and any specific questions or areas you need help with. We'll be here to provide guidance and feedback.
