Homework Help: religion,

Posted by jasmine20 on Friday, December 29, 2006 at 10:21pm.

Can someone help me. I've done 4 definitions of terms. But i don't know the last one can someone check what i have and then explain to me the last one. The religion i am studying is Hinduism.

Terms:
Karma-(My answer)The Buddhist's judgment, which determines at death the future state of the deceased. It is also their flat on actions, pronouncing them to be meritorious or otherwise.

Reincarnation-(My answer)the belief that the soul, upon death of the body, comes back to earth in another body or form.

Yoga-(My answer)a school of Hindu philosophy advocating and prescribing a course of physical and mental disciplines for attaining liberation from the material world and union of the self with the Supreme Being or ultimate principle.

Guru-is a teacher, or as some suggest a person who "leads others into a learning."

Chakras - ? this is the one I don't know.

Please go to the following site:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chakra

I READ THAT DEFINITION BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT THE ONE IN WIKIPEDIA AND I'VE DONE DIFFERENT DICTIONARIES AS WELL.

The easiest definition I found is that chakras are the "energy centers of the body where body and spirit most strongly connect."

This site has this and other definitions.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&defl=en&q=define:CHAKRA&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title

Thank you for your help the way that i read it in dictionaries even in the dictionary ecarta didn't make sence at all. This class of religion that i 'm taking is very difficult when dealing with different types of religions.
