By the exact wording of the problem, I think you need to add 3 tons

30,000 tons +3 tons =33,000 tons

Number nine is right!!

'Cause 10 to the third power= 10x10x10 which equals 1000. Then 1000x0.5=500!

But I am not sure how many pounds is in a ton, which you would need to figure it out.
