Homework Help: GOVERNMENT

Posted by Suzanne on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 5:15pm.

Name three presidents who signed the civil rights acts? Two are Lyndon Johnson, Dwight Eisenhower, and I can't find the other. I thought it was Kennedy but he died before.

For a list of when congressional acts regarding civil rights were signed by a president, see
http://www.withylaw.com/history.htm

The figure out the president who signed them, from the date.

Besides acts of Congress, there are also many executive orders (not requiring law passage) and consitutional amendments (not requiring the president's signature) that involved civil rights. So did the original Bill of Rights (Amendments 1-10).
