i have a lab, where you took a pile of m&ms and weighted them on a digital scale. and then we found the mass of just one. but i forgot what we did to find the mass of 1. we didn't just put one m&m on the scale. anyone know how to find the mass of one?

Did you count the number of candies, then divide the mass by that number?

nitrogen mass

According to the periodic table I have, but check yours if it is up to date, is 14.00864 amu per atom of nitrogen.

To find the mass of one M&M, you can follow the process of using the total mass of a known number of M&Ms and dividing it by that number. Here's a step-by-step guide:

1. Start by counting the number of M&Ms you have in your pile. Let's say you counted 50 M&Ms.

2. Place all 50 M&Ms on the digital scale and record the total mass. Let's say the total mass is 100 grams.

3. Divide the total mass by the number of M&Ms you counted. In this case, you would divide 100 grams by 50 M&Ms.

100 grams / 50 M&Ms = 2 grams per M&M

So, the mass of one M&M is approximately 2 grams.

Note: It's important to use a known and representative sample size of M&Ms in order to get an accurate measurement of the mass of one M&M.
