Homework Help: Physics Measurement

Posted by Katrina on Friday, September 15, 2006 at 9:53pm.

Upon what is the precision of a measurement based?

It depends upon what is being measured. For volume, the precision depends upon how precisely the buret or graduated cylinder can be read. For mass it depends upon the balance used (triple beam vs analytical balance), its sensitivity, such things as air movements, etc. If I have misinterpreted, please repost with a specific item.
