how do i do to get the answer for negative 12 + possitive 4+negative(8)

You want (-12) + 4 + (-8) This is the same as -12 + 4 -8
If you add the first two number you get -12 + 4 = -8
Then add this to the last number to get -8 + -8 = -16

negative + positive = negative and negative + negative is negative so -12 + 4 + (-8) = -16
