this is another question for "lord of the flies"

i need theme statements for themes. i came up with this for one of them.

theme statement: responsibility is necessary for survival.

i'm having a hard time coming up with others however i did come up with themes.

Innocence
adult authority
capacity reason
freedom
violence, anarchy,
i did irresponsibility up abve as an example.

so can you please help me. for freedom can i say something like
there is never too much freedom in this world or freedom isn't always good.

that's not exactly what i want to say, but that's the direction i'm heading for but i just don't know how to get there

so can you please help me. for freedom can i say something like
there is never too much freedom in this world or freedom isn't always good. Whicn one of these are you going to choose? They are not the same, you know.

I take it you have to make these theme statements fit what's happening in the book, right? Be sure to go through the information at the link in the previous post for help.

=)

Here are some potential theme statements for the themes you mentioned:

Innocence:
- The loss of innocence is inevitable in a harsh environment.
- The corrupting influence of power destroys innocence.

Adult authority:
- The absence of adult authority leads to chaos and savagery.
- Adult authority is necessary to maintain order and civilization.

Capacity for reason:
- The decline of reason leads to the descent into savagery.
- The conflict between reason and instinct highlights the fragility of human nature.

Freedom:
- True freedom requires a balance between individual liberty and societal responsibility.
- The pursuit of absolute freedom leads to anarchy and destruction.

Violence, anarchy:
- The unchecked violence and anarchy unleash the darkest aspects of human nature.
- The presence of violence and anarchy reveals the inherent brutality within humanity.

Remember, each theme statement should capture the essence of the theme and relate it to the events, characters, and messages within the book. Take your time to brainstorm and analyze the book to find the most fitting statements for each theme.
