If you are one mile off the beach in the Atlantic Ocean, how deep is the ocean?

Which beach? Is it in Europe, North America, Africa, South America or Antarctica? We'll try to research your question if we know the exact location of your beach. Since the continental shelf varies, please give us the name -- and if possible, the latitude and longitude of this beach.
