I am suppose to create a thesis for my research paper. Then I am suppose list three to five sub-claims I will use to support my thesis. I have done all of this just want an opinion on if I am on the right track or not.
Thesis: Operation Market Garden was a risky enterprise that failed to accomplish its objective because of Allied shortcomings.
Sub-Clamis:1. Allied army intelligence failed to provide the necessary information that could have changed the course of how events unfolded during the operation.
2. The Dutch underground provided information that could have brought victory to the allied forces, but their information was totally disregarded by the allied headquarters.
3. The reliance upon chance and unknown variables by the allied headquarters helped ensure that defeat was the only outcome of the operation.
4. Lack of sufficient supplies and proper equipment proved to be a major Achilles heel for allied troops.
I don't know much about Operation Market Garden -- other than it was supposed to destroy European bridges near the end of WWII. But it seems to me that your thesis and subclaims are substantial and defendable.
