It looks like a progression from 2-5, with each number being cubed. 2^3 = 2 * 2 * 2 = 8 If you let n stand for the number in your first column, then these would be the algebraic expressions. (n + 1)^3 = 8 (n + 1)^3 = 27 And so on. I hope this helps.

I would use the word "mean" "Mean" is what is known as the average in everyday language, "median" is the middle value of a set of data. Of course if you only have two data values, as the x-intercepts, it actually does not matter.
